  • Do you offer dial-up Internet access?
    No, but we recommend BasicISP dial-up services. Their price is only $6.95/month with no contracts needed and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
  • What kinds of Website Options or Packages do you offer?

  • What type of platform do you operate on?
    We utilize state-of-the-art Supermicro servers to feed your Web pages to the world. Each Unix server utilizes the latest "stable" versions of FreeBSD and Apache, the world leader in server software. E-mail accounts are housed on a comparably equipped and connected server in order to improve performance and minimize traffic load levels to the primary web server.

    The servers are backed up nightly and monitored 24 hours/365 days a year.
  • What is your connection to the internet?
    Our current Internet feed is a multiple redundant 1.54 Mbps T1 connection.
  • Can you register my Domain Name?
    You can register your domain name online through our partnership with Wild West Domains. Just click the link to www.skiltechdomains.com and follow the simple directions. You'll only need to enter your registration and credit card information, as our technical data is already incorporated in the online form. Please call or e-mail us if you have questions.
  • What if my Domain name is currently with another Service Provider?
    Many of our clients have moved to SkilTech from another web provider. This is not a problem, and your domain registrar does not charge anything to transfer the DNS (domain name server) settings, nor do we. We'll be happy to handle all the paperwork for pointing your domain name to us at no charge.
  • Does my Domain name remain my property if you register it for me?
    Yes. We always use your company information when we register your domain name, so your domain name will always belong to you.
  • Are there any hidden costs or charges that are not explained?
    None whatsoever. All fees and expenses will be included in the quotation you receive before work begins on your site.
  • Do your sites support Netscape or Internet Explorer?
    Both! Our sites are designed to be fully functional with either web browser, as well as the Mozilla and Opera browsers. Each platform has its own proprietary features, however we won't use any that would provide a less than satisfactory viewing experience in the other browser.
  • Do you do custom graphic design?
    Yes, we employ the services of commercial artists who can edit or create the graphics or logos you need. In addition, we can scan existing graphics or photos for use on your pages.
  • Does it cost anything to update the information on my web site after it has been created?
    It depends on the scope and frequency of the updates. We generally include a block of simple maintenance in the base package price and will have any text updates you request completed quickly - usually within 24 hours.

    If, however, your site requires more frequent updates, contact SkilTech for a quote. We can also develop "back end" tools so you can do your own maintenance on your own time schedule. While frequent updating can make your site a little more expensive, it's also the only way to insure repeat visitors. And that's the whole purpose, isn't it?
